THE FOURTH TIE
Directors: Martín Serra Genre: Feature Documentary
“The fourth and fifth tie works for me...what I am sure of is that I will never wear a
single tie in my life" The epic of the origin, development and poetics of "Homenaje a Buenos
Aires" Guillermo Roux's masterpiece, executed during the Argentine and World
crisis at the beginning of the 21st century, which consecrates him as an
inescapable artist of the second half of the 20th Century. Their fears, their doubts,
their triumphs, the great master leaves everything on that canvas and is stained
with deep physical and emotional traces. A journey to creation and madness, a
permanent search for answers in the infinite universe of being.

César Pelli’s Bank Boston tower building in Buenos Aires. Together with his team,
he develops everything related to the creative process for five long years.

THE CORAL WE BROUGHT FROM BRAZIL
Directors: Martín Serra Genre: Documentary Short
Diving suddenly into the past invades the soul with joy with those beautiful
moments: lights, colors, old decorations that one knows where they are. Little
children, seeing oneself with another physicist and old friends in swimming shorts. Nostalgia
also moves us in all directions. Meanwhile, Guillermo Roux displays his art in the
pool of his garden; the magic returns and stays for a while.
During a few days in the summer of 1968, GUILLERMO ROUX spontaneously
paints a fabulous mural in the pool of the garden of his house surrounded by
friends and family. That event was recorded by the filmmaker Simón Feldman on a
16mm camera. Roux and his wife Franca watch and comment on that old film from
its present day, giving us an emotional testimony of those wonderful moments of
the past.

THE GODDESS IN THE POOL
Directors: Martín Serra /Gerardo Korn Genre: Documentary short
“Water is flow, it is change, it is the opposite of what is static; while it flows it lives,
life is movement… like water”.
Nothing stops, today is already tomorrow, and the big question of why we are and
why we exist will always be there. And once again GUILLERMO ROUX repaints
his old pool in the garden. He would have wanted to adorn a river that is always in
motion, but for now, he does so with its pool that takes him back to his origin and to his
future… at the same time.
During the first four months of 2016, Roux decides once again to paint
the pool in his garden with a new mural, “The Goddess”, fifty years after the super 8 film.
We see him once again in action developing his hand with Jorge, his assistant.

LOOKS TRILOGY
CRUXICALYPSE
Directors: Martín Serra Genre: Documentary Short
How many times do they crucify Jesus per day in the whole world? How many
times is it affirmed that finally – “yes, this time” – the Apocalypse has arrived? 75 km
from Buenos Aires, in the town of General Las Heras, the last two murals by
Argentine artist Antonio Berni are found in the Chapel of San Luis
Gonzaga School. Painted during 1981 in the middle of the military dictatorship, "CRUCIFIXION"
and "APOCALYPSE" subtly portray the climate that was
lived. "If there is no love to transmit, there is no painting, there is no art, there is
nothing" says master Berni

23 SUMMERS
Directors: Martín Serra Genre: Documentary Short
What is a man doing offering empanadas in the manger in Bethlehem? Do the
Three Wise Men wear rhodochrosite as a gift? Does a windmill form the Argentine
flag with the blue of the sky? In the 1950s, teacher Raúl Soldi bought a weekend
house in Glew, which in those years was a typical country town in the province of
Buenos Aires, just eighteen miles from Buenos Aires. Seeing that his church - Santa Ana
chapel - only had white walls, he convinced the parish priest to paint some
frescoes with the life of Santa Ana and the Virgin Mary. He will deal with this work
from December to March for twenty-three non-consecutive years which, according to the
painter, were the happiest of his life.

LIFE IN A DAY
Directors: Martín Serra Genre: Documentary Short
“Everything has a soul: a flower, a goat, a mountain, a desert. Within each shape there is
a sphinx. And when there isn't, you can't paint it...”
The teacher Fernando Fader retires due to health problems to a little house in the
middle of the mountain in Loza Corral, province of Córdoba, in the center of
Argentina. There he develops a series of eight paintings of the same landscape at
different times of the day. At the same time, he tells us about his own life and
intervenes poetically giving reflections and feelings about painting.
